Additional PLOS Projects
At PLOS, I had the privilege of leading creative direction for campaigns that championed open science and innovation. From concept to execution, I crafted cohesive visuals with messaging across video, websites, emails, social media, and print, ensuring each campaign resonated with researchers and strengthened the PLOS brand.
PLOS Motivational Campaign
This campaign was designed to engage researchers and explore what motivates them. A series of five videos were developed to provide personalized content to researchers based on their responses to a survey about their drive to publish open science. I worked with an outside agency to create these videos.

New Journals Launch Campaign
PLOS introduced five new journals, which had not been done for 14 years. To generate excitement and capture attention, we created a blimp campaign that added an element of fun and playfulness to a more formal announcement, helping to spark interest and engagement in a unique way.

Animated blimps were crafted to represent each individual journal and grouped by subject matter for a unified theme. These dynamic visuals were strategically deployed across social media and email campaigns to announce and promote the new journals. This set showcased the environmental journals, featuring blimps traveling through a tunnel surrounded by vibrant leaves and flowing water, emphasizing the journals' focus on nature and sustainability.

Each journal featured a unique animation tailored to its theme, such as this one for Sustainability and Transformation. The visuals were repurposed effectively; for instance, the neon sign initially displayed "Open for Submissions" and was later updated to "First Articles Published" to promote newly released research articles. This approach maintained visual continuity while highlighting key milestones.
